I work on various topics in philosophy of language, metaphysics, epistemology, logic and neighbouring areas.

Some issues I’ve been thinking about recently are the interpretation of objective chance, update rules for self-locating credence, phenomenal notions of evidence, the status of hyperintensional epistemology, deflationary accounts of modality, non-standard systems of quantified modal logic, and whether all truths are in some sense entailed by purely logical truths. I also have an amateurish interest in automated reasoning and like to play around with home-made theorem provers.

I studied philosophy, logic and neuroscience in Munich, Berlin, London and Bielefeld. I got my PhD from Bielefeld in 2006, where I was also employed as a lecture for a year. Then I went to visit the RSSS at the ANU in Canberra and got stuck there for about three years, before starting my current position in Cologne.
